Hawthorne Urban Farmers' Market @ 43rd, Sundays, 1-6pm

The New Hawthorne Urban Farmers’ Market is a unique venture in SE Portland that links the urban farmers that have only made their products available via Community Suupported Agriculture (CSA) shares, to the larger community.

This loose collaboration brings the freshest, Ultra-local produce to the good citizens of SE Portland  every Sunday from the Hawtorne Auto Clinic parking lot, at 43rd and Hathorne from 1-6pm.

Check out some pics from the first season of the Hawthorne Market in a handy slideshow!

  2. HELLO THERE! AMAZING YOU GUYS! I WOULD LOVE TO BE INVOLED AS I AM TRYING TO GET MORE LAND AND WILL HAVE MORE TO GROW. ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ADDITIONAL VENDORS? WHAT TYPE? I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED TO HEAR MORE!!!

    • Yes, it is pretty darn neat, so I can understand your wanting to shout about it.

We are looking for new vendors, especially this coming week, as it’ll be the Mt. Tabor Centennial celebration. It’s first come, first serve, with vendors usually setting up between 11:30 and noon. Just come on by and claim your space. There are no rules other than that of being a good community member as you see fit, but vendors with non-perishable items are highly encouraged to let produce vendors take spaces on the West side of the lot. Most of the folks who sell non-produce items are from the Richmond, Sunnyside and Tabor neighbourhoods.

Hope to see you there. This coming week (2 Aug) should be super fun.

  3. I was thinking about bringing some home brewed beer to trade. Don’t need a space, I was just hoping to trade for veggies and other items. Just wanted to make sure that was OK before I lug it down there on my bike.

We have an IPA, a brown and a stout at the moment.

    • I, for one, am totally down w/ trading veggies for beer – in fact, it’s one of my favourite things to do. The brown and IPA are of special interest. 😉

We’ll be there from 1-6pm, every Sunday ’til Thanksgiving.
